The Assistant Director for Knowledge Communities and CLDE Initiatives coordinates NASPA’s Knowledge Communities (KC) program by liaising with KC volunteer leaders, managing communication and annual volunteer leader training, and coordinating all KC processes such as those connected with the NASPA Annual Conference and the election of new KC leaders. Working collaboratively with NASPA staff and volunteers, the Assistant Director also plans and implements various activities as part of NASPA’s Lead Initiative on Civic Learning and Democratic Engagement (Lead Initiative) that involves a network of nearly 100 NASPA member colleges and universities committed to encouraging and highlighting the work of student affairs in making civic learning and democratic engagement a part of every student’s college education. Reporting to and collaborating with the Director of Leadership and Senior Student Affairs Officers Initiatives, the Assistant Director serves on a team of professional development staff at the NASPA office in Washington, D.C.
