The Supreme Court Rules that the November election will proceed under the 2013 rewrite of the state’s elections laws

On October 8, 2014, the Supreme Court blocked the ruling by the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals last week that reinstated same-day registration during early/one-stop absentee voting and out-of-precinct provisional ballots.

This means that October 10th is the final day that voter registration forms can be postmarked or delivered to the Board of Elections for individuals who want to vote in the midterm election. Also, individuals must vote in the correct precinct within their county in order to cast a ballot on election day.
