Director of Service Scholars Program, Pfeiffer University

Pfeiffer University is seeking a Director of Service Scholars Program to prepare servant leaders for lifelong learning, providing critical support for Pfeiffer University’s two service scholar programs (Bonner Leaders and Francis Scholars). Working in the Francis Center for Servant Leadership, the Director of Service Scholar Programs will supervise and coordinate the program development, implementation, and evaluation for students and placement sites within all service scholar programs and coordinate campus-wide service programs like on-campus projects, weekend service opportunities and alternative break trips.

The Director will supervise the six-member Francis Student Leader Team and the Center’s Work Study placements. Additionally, the Director will serve as a critical link between the Bonner Foundation and the North Carolina Campus Compact to facilitate a positive relationship between both organizations and the University. It will be critical to build and maintain relationships with philanthropic organizations and nonprofit organizations within Central Park, North Carolina, as well as assessment and evaluation of the programs, including the Bonner Annual Report, the North Carolina Campus Compact Annual Report, the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll and the Carnegie Classification.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field of study, experience working with students in a higher education environment with at least 3 years of experience directly related to the responsibilities outlined in the position, experience with service program development, and ability to work evening and weekend hours. This position will also require the ability to travel with students for up to a week at a time, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, the ability to cultivate and maintain effective partnerships with community constituents, local governmental agencies, non-profit groups, and University personnel.

Pfeiffer University is a private, Liberal Arts University, affiliated with the United Methodist Church, whose mission is to prepare servant leaders for life-long learning. The main campus is located in Misenheimer, approximately 40 miles northeast of Charlotte, NC, with additional locations in Charlotte and the Raleigh area. Compensation is based upon education and experience, and will also include housing and a meal plan. This position will be based in Misenheimer.
