Program Coordinator, Florida Campus Compact VISTA Program

Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating AmeriCorps VISTA member management along with contract, budget, compliance monitoring, and evaluation activities for the FL|CC AmeriCorps VISTA Program. This program engages full-time Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA) members and staff at several Florida colleges and universities as well as their community partners. The Program Coordinator assesses and coordinates administrative, programming and operational activities for the AmeriCorps VISTA Program. Coordinates events and activities at participating colleges and universities across Florida. Implements associated policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Reports project results and makes program improvement recommendations to FL|CC, the Corporation for National & Community Service (CNCS), FSU, and other stakeholders. Monitors program budgets and maintains records of all expenditures and deliverables to ensure compliance. Works with business offices to ensure deliverables are fulfilled, finalizes subcontracts and maintains accurate budgetary record keeping. Coordinates and helps author annual grant renewal. Oversees the request for proposal (RFP) and review process to recruit and select new sub-grantee locations. Creates and facilitates new grantee orientations and meetings. Assesses and ensures subcontracts are compliant with CNCS rules and regulations. Develops content related to current news and events for the program and coordinates publishing to program website. Trains participating sub-grantee locations on AmeriCorps VISTA member recruitment, placement and management. Develops associated handbooks, tools and other resources. Provides supervision for AmeriCorps VISTA Leader.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years. Knowledge of principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation. Ability to gather, interpret, report, and use information in support of FL|CC’s mission. Experience coordinating and organizing meetings and/or special events. Ability to work collaboratively in team-centered environment as well as independently. Excellent oral, written, networking, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Background Check Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.

Preferred
A Bachelor’s degree in social science, public administration, education, marketing or related/applicable field and at least two years of relevant work or volunteer experience. Experience may include a combination of employment, internship and/or significant community service in a higher education, or a non-profit setting. Experience working with college/university staff, students and community partners. Previous work experience includes working with an AmeriCorps VISTA or AmeriCorps program and/or Campus Compact, or similar experience. A proactive, independent worker who is not only self-directed but one who also takes the initiative to offer creative ideas, solutions and problem solving for the benefit of the entire organization.

Pay Plan
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Contracts and Grants
The position is funded by contract and grant monies.
