Assistant Director, Center for Academic and Global Engagement, University of South Dakota

The Center for Academic and Global Engagement is seeking a motivated and detail oriented individual to serve as the primary campus professional responsible for service-learning and undergraduate research. This person will provide advising for and support to students, faculty, and campus at large regarding the alternative break program for service-learning, undergraduate research grants and programming, and campus/community connections. This person will also provide support to additional experiential learning activities through the Center for Academic & Global Engagement, including management of an AmeriCorps program.

The Center for Academic & Global Engagement is the location on campus for students who want to enrich their academic experiences while strengthening their qualifications for employment and/or graduate school. Supported programs include: service-learning, undergraduate research, study abroad, National Student Exchange, nationally competitive scholarships, civic engagement, and other experiential learning activities. The Center also supports international students in a variety of ways. Staff in the Center work with dynamic programs and students to put their learning to work to become participating and interested citizens. These activities help students develop essential skills, hone their interests, and become important contributors to the greater community.  Candidate will possess the following: masters degree in relevant field required (preference for Public Administration, Education, or Counseling fields); 1-3 years of relevant experience as a professional in student or academic affairs programming; excellent written and oral communication skills; experience advising college students; excellent attention to detail; able to hold or already holds US passport.  Diversity and inclusiveness are values that are embraced and practiced at the University of South Dakota.
