Coordinator of Student Volunteerism and Service-Learning, Ringling College of Art and Design

The Coordinator of Student Volunteerism and Service-Learning develops and expands the College’s student volunteer and service-learning efforts in the community and on campus. Coordinator develops community outreach programs; assesses the interests and academia of the student population that will be performing the community service and is responsible for programming calendar. Supervises Federal Work Study employees, who will assist in coordinating and marketing projects. Recruits volunteers through student clubs, organizations and classes. Supervises the Student Ambassadors program. Cultivates working relationships with community agencies; serves as a campus resource to faculty for volunteerism and service-learning; prepares and conducts campaigns to promote involvement of faculty, staff, and students.

This is a 12-month live on campus position.

The Coordinator assists with all aspects of volunteerism and service-learning: planning, promoting, managing, budget tracking, and the assessment of student volunteerism and service-learning activities on campus. Successful incumbent will have strong organizational skills, time management skills and interpersonal skills; excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and understanding the culture of artists and designers. Coordinator must have proficient computer and Internet skills, ability to work as both a leader and member of a team, with ability to take initiative and work independently.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree • Extensive volunteer experience • Skilled artist with ability to lead creative projects • Experience coordinating community art projects • Ability to live on campus in College provided housing given the variety of meeting times with students and project supervision.

Preferred Qualifications: • Degree in the field of Art, or Design
