Adjunct Instructor, Global Studies and Public & Community Service Studies, Providence College

The Global Studies Department and Public and Community Service Studies Department at Providence College seek applications for a joint full-time one-year faculty adjunct position starting Fall 2014.  As our student body, and majors in particular, grow increasingly diverse, strong interest in student-centered, cross-cultural, interactive pedagogy, and publicly engaged scholarship is essential.

An evidence of passion for teaching, along with familiarity and experience with engaged pedagogy and service learning are required. We encourage applications from motivated masters degree holders, although PhDs in a discipline or interdisciplinary field related to global studies and/or community studies will be given preference. The faculty adjunct is expected to teach four courses per semester, including introductory courses in global studies and public/community service, along with some upper level courses that may be able to be shaped toward expertise of candidates.

Applicants will be asked to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript(s), a statement of teaching philosophy, and three letters of recommendation.
