Senior Program Coordinator, Institute for Civic and Community Engagement, San Francisco State University

Responsible for providing support to the ICCE Director, the ICCE Associate Director/CSL Director and SF State faculty and students for ICCE program coordination and expansion. All program coordinators share responsibility for supporting community service learning and other existing programs of the Institute, for seeking external funding to support existing and new ICCE programs, launching and coordinating the activities of these programs, and assisting faculty in their efforts to conduct research and evaluation of Institute and external programs; responsible for all online and print communications between the Institute and the university and general community.

Minimum Qualifications:  Education: Bachelor’s degree; minimum two years’ work experience; experience in working with university-level faculty and community-based organizations and in program planning, development and implementation.

Knowledge: various forms of experiential education (service learning, community service, participatory action research, problem based learning, internships); knowledge of civic engagement; standard theories, principles, practices and techniques applicable to the development of university-community partnerships; general office practices; knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts; University policies and procedures; knowledge of procedures for research and analysis.

Specialized Skills: effective interpersonal and  communication skills; training, and presentation skills; written and online communication skills; critical and strategic thinking skills; proficient in electronic communication tools and software MS Suites:  Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro, and the Internet.

Abilities: initiate, follow through and complete projects; collect and analyze data; problem solve and anticipate concerns and act proactively; synthesize information into organized and cohesive reports and presentations; analyze long-term strategies and contribute to organizational strategic planning; work both independently and as a member of a team; train on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction; supervise student assistants.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience with fundraising and public relations.  Academic setting work experience:  Demonstrate commitment to the SF State and ICCE mission and the core values of community scholarship.

Anticipated Hiring Range:  $3,900 – $5,000 per month ($46,800 – $60,000 annually)
