Program Manager, National Service Programs – Rebuilding Together

The selected candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day AmeriCorps program support and member management of Rebuilding Together’s AmeriCorps*National Direct program – the Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps-  with 65 full time AmeriCorps members placed in 32 Rebuilding Together affiliates in 20 states. The Program Manager in the National Service Programs team is a full-time Exempt position reporting to the Director in the National Service Programs area.

Rebuilding Together is the nation’s leading nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize sommunities. Our network of more than 200 affiliates provides free rehabilitation and critical repairs to the homes of low-income Americans. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Management and Compliance

•           Work within the National Service Programs team to develop high-impact member service strategy. Assist in
managing relationships with Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps affiliate host sites across the US.

•           Assist the Director, National Service Programs with the recruitment, placement and support of Rebuilding Together’s
AmeriCorps members, ensuring a diverse applicant pool. This includes developing recruitment strategies, managing applicant flow & candidate milestones, and conducting extensive interviews with potential members.

•           Ensure effective support of the AmeriCorps members on a day-to-day basis; conduct regular check-in calls, coordinate AmeriCorps member mid-year and end of term performance reviews.
•           Act as primarily project lead for MLK Service project week in January of each program year. Assist in planning and
implementing week-long member orientation in Washington DC. Coordinate logistics for member and site supervisor orientation such as travel, housing & logistics.

•           Assist in providing technical assistance to CapacityCorps host sites in the field to maintain program quality on a local level and to resolve program related issues. Serve as a source of best practice information to AmeriCorps members.

•           Support annual Risk Assessments and Host Site/Member File Audits.

•           Ensure adherence to program policies and federal AmeriCorps requirements.

Member Support and Program Development

•           Oversee the compliance and accuracy of AmeriCorps member files including eGrants exit/enrollment, approving/processing member eligibility documents, and other program requirements.

•           Develop and implement communication strategies such as program recruitment, updates, promotion content, and
reports.
•           Develop and implement member development training for AmeriCorps Members. Lead regular professional
development webinars and teleconferences for members and site supervisors. Assist with developing other programming such as advanced citizenship and Life after AmeriCorps trainings.

•           Act as State Service Commission Liaison, preparing and implementing annual grant renewal State Commission collaboration forms. Collect information on relevant state laws; compile data on state and local collaborations with State Commissions for annual Grantee Progress Report (GPR).

•           Facilitate (in conjunction with Host Site Supervisors) the professional development and leadership opportunities for
AmeriCorps members, including providing coaching for performance improvement.

Additional responsibilities include:

•           Develop and implement a CapacityCorps Alumni engagement strategy.

•           Further National Days of Service participation for Rebuilding Together National Network.

•           Point of Contact for AmeriCorps content on the online Affiliate Resource Center.

•           Assist with other National Service Departmental deliverables as necessary.

•           Support the Affiliate Relations Department with activities to support the health and welfare of the affiliate
network.

•           Other duties as assigned.

•           Ability to enforce federal policies in a federal compliance-driven environment with heavy documentation requirements.

•           Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.

•           Demonstrated success leading teams in community service projects.

•           Ability to lead diverse AmeriCorps members with unique capacity-building service roles in grassroots nonprofit
environments, with a high level of professionalism, and accountability.

•           Excellent speaking, writing, presenting, and interpersonal skills required; strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of a national nonprofit organization.

•           Strong commitment to developing a diverse and inclusive AmeriCorps team, and working effectively with people with
different work styles and backgrounds.

•           Ability to lead groups, large and small with excellent communication, organization, and motivation skills.

•           Proficient in Microsoft Office.

•           Experience leveraging web-based communications tools.

•           Availability for 6-10 out-of-state trips per year.

•           Must pass a FBI criminal background check, State criminal background check and national sex offender registry
check.

Education/Experience:

•           Qualifications a Bachelor degree and 1-3 years experience with managing state or national AmeriCorps programs or
managing Rebuilding Together programs.
