Ramseur, NC
Originally a settlement that grew around a sawmill built in 1840, and kept alive largely by the later creation of the Deep River-Columbia Manufacturing Company, Ramseur is now home to over 1,692 people. The town is filled with friendly locals and features a well-preserved downtown historical district. If in search for a taste of local food go to Amelia’s or Shelly’s – Not to “the one MacDonald’s ‘round the corner”. It’s an inside joke.
